I had the opportunity to host two post-Budget breakfasts in April with local York Centre stakeholders to discuss the federal government’s 2017 Budget, and how it will help our community.
The first meeting focused on entrepreneurs and local businesses to discuss their priorities and what the government is doing to support innovation and economic growth. I want to thank YEDI, CIJA, Centennial College, Plug’n Drive & DUKE Heights BIA for participating in this important discussion.
The second meeting focused on social services agencies and providers in our community to discuss the real needs faced by vulnerable Canadians, and how the government can support them. I want to thank the MukiBaum Accessibility Centre, the Meta Centre, the Griffin Centre, the Reena Foundation, and JIAS Toronto for providing their feedback.
Budget 2017 provides investments in our people and our community that work hand in hand with the good work all these organisations do to make York Centre the great place it is.
